What They Do
At The Wine Room, clients can craft their own wine through a guided, step-by-step process:
- Choose a Wine: Select from a wide variety of red, white, and fruity wines to suit all tastes and budgets.
- Kit, Water & Yeast: The wine kit is emptied into a vat, water is added, and yeast is sprinkled in to start the fermentation process. The wine is then left for 2-3 weeks.
- Stabilize the Wine: After being transferred to a carboy, the wine is stabilized and left to sit for another few weeks. More expensive wines made with juice (as opposed to concentrate) typically take longer to ferment.
- Bottle & Cork: When the wine is ready, clients bottle and cork the finished product. A typical batch yields 30 bottles, each 750 ml.
Throughout the process, clients play an active role, from adding yeast at the beginning to bottling the wine at the end. Bottling takes about 30 minutes, with guidance provided by the staff. The Wine Room also offers customization options, allowing clients to enhance their wines with flavor additions like vanilla bean, black pepper, dried fruit, and oak.
